General Surgery - Current Breast Cancer Treatment


Burton will give a comprehensive outline about the primary management of breast cancer, emphasising clinical and radiological principles.

The focus will be on the diagnosis of breast cancer with special emphasis on the difficulties presenting to general practitioners. 

Burton will outline the research interest at The Breast Centre and describe recent publications.  He will also give a historic overview of the history of breast cancer treatment but the emphasis will be on current diagnosis and treatment.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the range of breast cancer presentations
  • Be confident on when to refer patients for further investigation.
